This is the best place to keep up to date with all things volunteering for us.
We try to keep it up to date and post regularly but this is all volunteer run so please do bear with us. |

Group Coordinator
Hello all, I'm Isabelle - your Bristol and South Glos group coordinator.
Before taking over the running, I baked for Free Cakes for Kids for about a year. You may find some of my bakes in our gallery.. I must admit I did not make the one in my picture myself.. but I did eat it and that's got to count for something right? Please don't hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any questions or thoughts about the running of this group. I would love to hear any ideas any of you have about how we can manage things better. I'm also looking for volunteers to support me with the running of the group. Please email if you're interested! |
Covid-19 Latest
We are currently taking orders and pretty busy!
If you are uncomfortable with delivering cakes or shopping for ingredients due to the ongoing pandemic, please wait until you feel comfortable to sign up for any bakes.
When you are delivering any cakes you must maintain social distancing and wear a mask. Please that you kitchen is fully cleaned before baking and any packaging used for transport is new and clean to minimise the risk of passing anything on.
We now have a selection of cake boxes and boards for your use so get in touch with Isabelle to arrange getting one for your bake.
Keep safe all!

Latest Group UpdatesAlthough 2020 was a quiet year for us with pausing for lockdowns, we still managed some great bakes and want to thank all of our volunteers for their hard work and amazing cakes over the year. We couldn't do it without you!

Call for Community Recipes
Do you have a fabulous go-to bake recipe that you think others would enjoy? We're on the lookout for some personalised recipes that we could add to our recipe area. If you have any great recipes that you would be willing to share, please email them to freecakesbristol@gmail.com.
We have a great collection of photos of all of your cakes over the years, so would be amazing if we could supplement it with some recipes too. |
Current Fundraising EffortsAlthough we are paused from baking for the current lockdown, we are always looking for ways to support our local community and those in need.
We're currently raising money for a local foodbank, FareShare South West. With need continuing to soar, and another Lockdown, we wanted to do what we could to help to fight food poverty. Please consider donating via the button below - no child or family should be going hungry. |
Health and Safety
Here at Free Cakes for Kids, we take allergens and health and safety in general seriously. As a volunteer, you must to keep up with our health and safety requirements.
We have created a useful document explaining general food safety, including allergens and safety around allergens. You should receive this when you sign up to volunteer with us. This includes a checklist of common allergens for your information. Please ensure you review this in full. As you will know, whenever you provide a bake you must fill out an "information about your cake" form to provide the recipient with a list of all relevant allergens and other "good to know" information about the cake they are receiving. You can find this document here. When an area organiser has been made aware of a recipient with a nut allergy, they will make it clear that although we do not directly use nuts in our cakes, we cannot provide a cake that is absolutely guaranteed nut free. If the organiser gets explicit consent to still provide a cake, we have a nut disclaimer form that the volunteer must get the parent/guardian to sign when the cake is delivered. You should keep a copy and return it to your area organiser. If you are ever in doubt about anything regarding food safety or anything else. Do not hesitate to contact your coordinator. |
